A Facility Built to Serve the Community
Completed in early 2025, this 80,900-square-foot, two-story municipal building brings together three vital services under one roof: Village Hall, the Police Department, and the administrative offices of Downers Grove Grade School District 58. The modern facility was designed not only to streamline operations, but to create a sense of unity and accessibility for residents and staff alike.
As a nationally accredited CALEA agency, Downers Grove PD saw the new facility as an opportunity to enhance its workspaces, improve user experience, and implement secure, high-functioning storage throughout the building.

Locker Rooms Designed for Officer Well-being:
The men’s and women’s locker rooms feature a total of 127 FreeStyle® Personal Storage Lockers in varied sizes — all designed with sloped tops, USB and power outlets, armor racks, ventilation louvers, bench drawers, and Ojmar OTS® Advance digital locks. These features help streamline workflows, support ADA compliance, and enhance comfort.
Personal Storage Lockers Designed With the Officers in Mind:
Each of the 72 Gear and Duty Lockers was designed to provide secure, immediate access to mission-critical equipment. Inside, the lockers are configured to accommodate a wide range of items — from riot gear and weather-related supplies to personal protective equipment — ensuring officers are fully prepared to head out on patrol. The lockers are outfitted with multiple internal hooks and adjustable shelving to support varied storage needs, and their layout between the break and roll call rooms helps streamline shift transitions. With Ojmar OTS® Advance digital locks, each officer can access their assigned locker quickly using a personal code, enabling shared use across multiple shifts without compromising security or tracking.
Gear and Duty Lockers for Quick, Secure Access:
Located between the break room and roll call area, 72 Gear and Duty Lockers provide secure storage for equipment like riot gear and weather supplies. Ojmar keyless locks enable seamless locker sharing across shifts without the need to manage keys.
Evidence Handling with Built-in Efficiency:
The facility includes Pass-Thru Evidence Lockers, refrigerated units, and lockers with USB ports for digital evidence. Two units include Ojmar OCS® Pro locks for temporary/crash holding and passback functionality. Inside the lab, RaptorRAC® Widespan shelving is mounted on 10 rows of High-Density Mobile Shelving (HDMS) with Mechanical Assist controls, maximizing storage and adaptability.
